SHS Presents Footloose
Summit High School's highly anticipated spring musical, Footloose, will hit the stage Wednesday, March 2nd and run through Saturday, March 5th.
Based on the 1984 film filled with Oscar and Tony-nominated Top 40 songs, Footloose tells the story of Ren McCormack, a big city boy from Chicago who moves to small town America.
Unprepared for conservative local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local pastor, Ren sets out to bring forgotten joy to the town. The heartfelt story that emerges pins a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.
"With its youthful spirit, dazzling dance, and electrifying music, this family friendly musical celebrates the exhilaration of youth, the wisdom of listening to one another, and the power of forgiveness," says Director, Anne Poyner.
